Each session is 50 minutes and begins with a conversation about what brings you in and what you hope to change. The first session is an intake designed to understand your background and set goals together. From there, our work becomes a safe, collaborative process focused on helping you feel seen, supported, and understood. My goal is to create a space where you can express your thoughts freely and begin to explore new perspectives. Each session ends with reflection and insights you can carry with you between appointments, so growth continues beyond our time together.

Therapy is a journey that unfolds at your pace. Some clients begin to notice meaningful shifts within the first few weeks, while others continue longer to explore deeper patterns and lasting change. I typically recommend starting weekly for about a month, then adjusting the frequency as progress builds. What matters most is that each session feels purposeful and builds upon the last. Real growth happens when you begin applying what you gain in therapy to your everyday life.

The connection between therapist and client is key to successful therapy. I encourage new clients to begin with at least four sessions.  This gives us time to build trust, assess progress, and find a rhythm that feels comfortable for you. I welcome open feedback at any point; therapy works best when you feel safe and empowered to express your needs. If it ever feels like another approach might serve you better, I’m happy to provide referrals and guidance.  My goal is always for you to receive the care that fits you best.

I accept select insurance plans depending on your treatment goals. Because insurance typically covers sessions based on medical necessity, some services, such as couples or sex therapy,  are not billable through insurance. If your coverage meets the necessary standards, my billing representative will submit claims directly on your behalf. For services not billed to insurance, I’m happy to provide a detailed invoice (superbill) that you can submit directly to insurance for possible reimbursement. We’ll review all options during your consultation to ensure the best fit for your needs.

I ask that clients provide at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel a session to avoid being charged the full session fee. Same-day cancellations and missed appointments are billed at the full rate. This policy helps protect the time reserved specifically for you and ensures fair availability for all clients.

The self-pay rate for sessions is $200. If you plan to use insurance, I recommend contacting your provider in advance to confirm coverage and out-of-pocket costs. Payment is due at the time of each session, and I accept credit cards and HSA payments. We can discuss all fee details during your consultation to ensure transparency, comfort, and clarity before beginning therapy.

You may begin to notice small but meaningful changes, such as feeling more aware of your emotions, communicating more clearly, or responding differently to familiar stressors. Growth often unfolds gradually, but over time, you’ll see patterns shift and life begin to feel lighter, more balanced, and aligned with what you truly want.

It’s completely normal to feel discomfort as you begin addressing deeper emotions or long-held patterns. This isn’t a setback; it’s a sign of growth. Healing often involves revisiting what’s been avoided, and I’ll support you through every step at a pace that feels safe and manageable. Feeling uncertain or emotional between sessions is part of the process that leads to lasting change.

Therapy is most effective when you approach each session with honesty, openness and curiosity, even on the hard days. Take time to reflect on what we discuss, notice how your thoughts and emotions shift between sessions, and practice new insights in your daily life. The more present and engaged you are, the more meaningful your progress will be. Therapy is most effective when it feels like a partnership: you bring your lived experience, and I offer the tools and guidance to help you grow and heal.
